In Honour of the Solar Eclipse...

Please scroll down for my SugarPea Sweet Peeks Week Day 1 post.

I had some fun yesterday making a solar eclipse card. Of course there are no sentiments made for this precise occasion since it happens so rarely so I made one from parts of several different stamps from various sets. It seemed appropriate to comment on the 'specialness' of the day.

I started by sponging a 'sun' of Tiara ink, and then stamped a 'moon' from Spot On (from the Foundations Box) in Midnight directly over it. To complete my focal panel, I created the rest of the sentiment using stamps from I Pick You and Good Things (Counting Blessings Stamp of Approval collection). I cut it using a Dotted Circle die and offset a shadow behind it.  I blended a 'sky' panel using It's a Boy, and spritzed it with water for interest and colour variation.

SugarPea Designs Release Sweet Peeks Day 1

Good morning! Are you excited? I sure am, and so are all the members of the SugarPea Designs DT! It's Day 1 of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peeks and we've got SO much to show you! I think this is my favourite release ever! (do I say that every time? lol! It's TRUE!)

Let's dive right in, shall we? Today we're introducing new patterned papers in classic stripes and polka dots and in a full rainbow of colours (brights AND pastels!). We've got a new cover plate and of course, a sweet stamp set full of autumn images and cute critters - with matching dies, of course!

This card uses the brights paper pack and the cover plate, along with some of the smaller stamps from our latest stamp set.

And here are the raccoons! Aren't they adorable! I drew a scene around them, using a Copic-safe marker.

And don't forget our (still quite new) coloured envelopes - we have a rainbow of them too!

Be sure to drop by all the DT Members' blogs for more inspiration!
